Prerequisite Lesson: Latitude and Longitude
Where shall we travel?

This activity can be used as additional practice
for students or for assessment to determine their ability to locate
places around the world using latitude and longitude. |
| Instructions |
The teacher gives students a list of latitudes and
longitudes representing various locations around the world. Students
find those locations on a world map and identify where they are. This
activity can easily be aligned with what students are studying in
Social Studies and/or Geography.

1. A list of locations and an Answer Sheet that can be
used for the activity; however the teacher may want to personalize this
list to align with what students are studying in Social Studies and/or
Geography. (forthcoming)
2. World
Map: (pdf file. Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader) This world map can be used
for this and other activities related to finding longitudes and latitudes. |

Make a copy of the location list and a map for each set
of students. |
